Tasting Notes
Vibrant and luminous in colour, the Blanc de Blancs is a beautiful, pale but golden tone of yellow with gentle green reflections. The persistent release of bubbles allows for an active effervescent quality.
At first, the Blanc de Blancs is very intense on the nose, offering fresh and citrusy fruit notes; this is followed by a refined floral nose with notes of white flowers and fruits (white peaches, pineapple).
The vinosity of the Blanc de Blancs is not excessive; it is supported by excellent freshness. Offering a supple, harmonious attack on the palate, this stunning wine has notes of nectarines, citrus fruits and a pleasant mineral quality in the finish for a long, refreshing resolve.
Convivial and sparkling, this champagne pairs exceptionally well with seafood such as shellfish and whitefish. Ruinart's Blanc de Blancs loves the sea; a sea bass tartare with citrus fruits and ginger, or langoustines with fresh herbs are ideal starters to pair it with. A sole a la plancha would be a complimentary main course, while an acidic dessert such as lemon tart or a grapefruit granita would truly highlight the fresh and citrus-rich notes of this elegant champagne.
